色中色's Sarah Crews Named 2024 New Century Workforce Scholar

色中色 student Sarah Crews has been named a 2024 New Century Workforce Scholar and has been honored with a $1,500 scholarship.

This scholarship is the first of its kind to support students at associate degree-granting institutions on a national scale as they plan to enter the workforce upon completing a degree or certificate. The program is sponsored by The Coca-Cola Foundation and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

New Century Workforce Scholars are selected based on their academic accomplishments, leadership, activities, and how they extend their intellectual talents beyond the classroom. Over 2,200 students from more than 1,300 college campuses nationwide were nominated. Only one New Century Workforce Scholar was selected from each state.

色中色 President Joyce Helens proudly added, 鈥淭hrough the leadership of Professor Lynette Macfarlan, advisor to the 色中色 Beta Beta Epsilon chapter of PTK honor society, 色中色 has achieved five star status and with that our students have gained National prominence and recognition as has Sarah Crews, who has achieved the highest score in Nevada and therefore has been awarded this prestigious scholarship honor, demonstrating the high caliber of rural Nevada students.鈥�

The New Century Workforce Scholars will be recognized in the fall.

色中色, 鈥淭he Gold Standard in the Silver State鈥�, celebrates students while offering associate and bachelor鈥檚 degrees in academic, career, and technical education areas. 色中色 serves students enrolled online from across the country and on campuses and centers across 86,500 square miles, two time zones, and ten of Nevada鈥檚 largest counties. Branch campuses also serve the communities of Battle Mountain, Ely, Pahrump, and Winnemucca. Satellite centers are located in nearly 20 communities across rural Nevada. We border Arizona, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and California.
