About 4,000 students are enrolled annually online from across the country and on campuses and centers across 86,500 square miles, two time zones, and ten of Nevada's largest counties. Below are answers to the DRC's most commonly asked questions.
Accommodations are provided based on documentation-supported access needs. Accommodations offered at 色中色 include, but are not limited to:
Maybe. Colleges are not under the same legal requirements as K-12 schools. K-12 disability services focus on meeting the individual education needs of the student, which may involve modifying course standards. College disability services center on removing barriers to equal opportunity. For more detailed information on differences in K-12 and college disability services, please visit the DRC Transitioning from High School section of the Accessibility web page.
Colleges are not required to pay for assessments or the costs of attaining documentation. Students are responsible for providing appropriate documentation at their own expense at 色中色.
All students at 色中色 may receive tutoring through the 色中色 Academic Success Center, but specialized tutoring is not provided. However, the DRC is available to provide equal access supports specific to tutoring.
No. These are considered personal services not covered under the . However, the DRC will provide lab assistants if needed.
The DRC will issue a Letter of Accommodation (LOA) to the student listing accommodations a student is eligible for at 色中色. The student may present the letter to the instructor or request that the DRC send a copy to instructors. Students should be aware that the DRC will not send a copy to instructors unless requested by the student. Students should reach out to their instructors to discuss implementation of accommodations, as implementation may look different for different courses.
